Editor is now available on WordPress.com!

Earlier this year we released our first free theme, Editor, into the WordPress.org theme repository. Since then, it’s been downloaded nearly 60,000 times! We’ve seen some beautiful websites created with Editor and we couldn’t be more happy with its success.

Today, we’re happy to announce Editor is now available for WordPress.com users. If you have a WordPress.com account, you can activate Editor today by going to the Themes page and searching for “Editor”.

We’re excited to share Editor with even more folks and can’t wait to see what you create with it!

  1. Hi! I use the Editor Theme but I can’t enable the Featured Post (as part of the menu on the left – with the pin icon). I read about it in your support category but I still haven’t understand what to do.. Please help me. Thank you.

    • Hi there, you can post support questions for editor on the Editor support forum. The Featured section works differently for wp.com and wp.org, so it depends on which theme you have. For wp.com, you need to use the Featured Content settings in Appearance > Customize. Here, you can choose a tag that will be used to display your featured content. Once you’ve chosen a tag, you can then tag your posts with this tag and they will show up in the sidebar.

For wp.org, it’s similar. You need to go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options and choose a category to display your featured posts. Adding this category to your posts will make them show up in the sidebar.
