Ever since releasing my first commercial WordPress theme in May of 2009, I’ve been privileged to continue the journey of crafting unique products for the WordPress industry at large. I wake up every day and do my best work to ensure my customers get the best website on the planet, without compromise.
Early on, I made a firm decision to remain fiercely focused on the quality of everything I was creating to ensure the end user received nothing less than extraordinary. The design, the code, the user experience, the partners I chose, the customer support, and the avenues which I chose to distribute my work were all meticulously chosen and crafted to produce an output I was confident would resonate with my peers and customers. And luckily, it did!
Sticking to this formula year after year since 2009, I was able to grow an industry-respected WordPress business with a dedicated customer base that continues to follow me on this journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the many designers, developers, writers, agencies, and business owners that trusted me with their website by choosing to install an Array theme over the hundreds of thousands of WordPress themes out there.
With that, I hope you will continue to vote for quality and innovation by following me on the next step of my journey.
Array products are joining WP Engine
I’m excited to share with you that WP Engine has acquired Array’s product suite (Array Themes, Atomic Blocks, Gutenberg News)!
If it seems like you may have already read this headline recently, it’s because another top-quality WordPress theme shop, StudioPress, was also recently acquired by WP Engine. StudioPress’ Genesis Framework is the most popular framework for advanced developers to build beautiful, future-proof themes for WordPress.
John Parris and I will be joining the StudioPress team at WP Engine to blaze forward in the Gutenberg era, creating new WordPress theme and block technology for WP Engine customers and the community at large.
When I first started conversations with Brian Gardner, Jason Cohen, and David Vogelpohl, who were all integral parts of this acquisition, they made clear to me their commitment to WordPress, Gutenberg, and forward-thinking technologies. We were all in agreement that new opportunities for developers and customers are going to be astronomical in the coming months and years. It became clear that our resources were better spent working together to make these opportunities a reality.
Our latest product, Atomic Blocks, and the Gutenberg News website will also be coming to WP Engine. The resources and brainpower at WP Engine and StudioPress will help bring Atomic Blocks to a much wider audience and help it become the successful, industry-leading product I know it can be.
This is a truly exciting time for WordPress and we’re ready to help the industry make that transition with the same kind of finely-crafted products you’ve come to expect from Array, WP Engine and StudioPress.
What Happens Next
As of today, the Array Themes collection will no longer be for sale. Although our website will remain active for support and theme access, there will be no new themes released. Instead, we will be focusing our energy on creating new themes for the StudioPress theme collection and working on Gutenberg technologies like Atomic Blocks and some new and exciting projects.
Some of our more popular themes will live on at StudioPress! We will be working to create Genesis-friendly versions of these themes to be released at a later date. Sign up for the StudioPress newsletter to find out when those themes are released.
Access to Theme Support
We realize there are customers with active theme subscriptions that have ongoing support needs. I’m happy to say that we’ll be honoring those support needs to help you finish up any projects you are trying to get started or complete. John and I will be happy to continue helping you with any theme questions you have, with the same level of support you’ve come to expect from Array, Inc. You can continue getting support through the dashboard.
Access to WordPress Themes
As with support, access to your WordPress theme downloads will remain open until your subscription runs out. You are free to continue downloading and using your WordPress themes.
As I mentioned earlier, both WP Engine and StudioPress are dedicated to the future of WordPress, and we all want you to be a part of that future with us. In order to help Array, Inc. customers come along for that journey, WP Engine is offering generous StudioPress and WP Engine discounts for single theme members and Theme Club members with active subscriptions. This will provide a unique opportunity for customers to gain access to the best theme collection out there on the best digital experience platform for WordPress.
Array Lifetime members will get free access to the StudioPress Pro Plus All-Theme Package, which includes 35+ beautifully-crafted WordPress themes and the Genesis framework.
This gesture to Array, Inc. customers put forward by WP Engine exemplifies some of their core values of doing the right thing and advocating for customers. We will be reaching out to customers directly with more information on how to proceed with this transition.
I’d like to reiterate my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has played a part in our success over the years. To the many designers, developers, authors, tinkerers, creators, contractors, and everyone in between, THANK YOU for voting for a better future by choosing Array Themes over the years. Stay tuned – the best is yet to come.
Founder, Array Themes & Atomic Blocks
